AKG Thermal Systems, Inc., located in Mebane, North Carolina, specializes in the design, sales and distribution of standardized cooling solutions.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Locate, retrieve and assemble the parts onto the coolers, based on the work order instructions.  When completed, pack the cooling packages and prepare them for shipment.  
  • Read and understand detailed work order instructions
  • Use a forklift to locate and retrieve parts that are needed for assembly.  May need to use the computer to find the location for the specific parts
  • Assemble and attach the retrieved parts to the cooling package, in accordance with the blueprint instruction
  • Place label on the finished cooling package, and sign the order list to document completion
  • Determine if the cooling package needs to be weighed and wrapped.  If it does, use the scales to weigh the cooling package and operate the wrapping machine to package the finished product. Bubble wrap may be need rather in lieu of the wrapping machine
  • Bolt and tighten the cooling package onto a skid, transport this finished cooling package to the Shipping department, after it has been assembled and wrapped  
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.  
  • Report any issues to the supervisor, or appropriate personnel, as soon as detected.  
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and/or requirements set forth in AKG’s environmental management system (EMS).
  • Regular physical attendance is a requirement for this position. Refer to AKG attendance policy in the Information Handbook for Employees.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment is preferred.  
  • Must be available and able to work the agreed upon shift.
  • Must be able to stand (100%) and walk (25%) of the time.  May also be required to bend, stoop, pull, push, twist and turn.  
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs (25%) of the time.  
  • Must be able to use a chain hoist, forklift, pallet jack, wrapping machine and the scales.  
  • Must wear safety equipment such as steel toe shoes and safety glasses.  Safety glasses are provided.
  • Must have great attention to detail.
  • Must wear safety equipment PPE such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses and gloves
